Common Referral and Insurance Questions
Do I need a physician referral prior to starting physical therapy?
You do not need a physician referral prior to starting physical therapy.
In Minnesota, we have "direct access" which means that you can directly see a physical therapist without seeing your physician first.
There are a couple exceptions but we can easily help you work through that process when you schedule your first visit.
Can I choose where I want to have physical therapy?
You can always decide where you want to have physical therapy.
Even if you have a physical therapy referral recommending a hospital or different clinic, you still choose to have physical therapy at Fitness Focus.
Do you take insurance?
We do take insurance.
We are authorized providers for the following insurance companies: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Cigna, Medicare Part B, Railroad Medicare, Tricare, Medica, Preferred One, UCare for Seniors, Humana, Worker's Compensation, and All Auto Insurance.
If you have specific questions regarding your insurance coverage, please make sure to follow-up directly with your insurance company due to variability with each insurance plan.
Do you offer cash-pay options and when would this be beneficial?
We do offer competitive cash-pay options.
This may be a good option based on your current insurance plan (i.e. high deductible and/or high co-pay).
If interested, please ask about this option when scheduling your initial appointment to help determine if this option would be beneficial to you.
Virtual Tele-Physical Therapy Option
Our expert physical therapists can treat you virtually through your laptop, phone or surface.
This convenient option allows you to address your pain, weakness or stiffness even if you are unable to physically come to Fitness Focus.
This has become a very popular for individuals who live busy lives, have long commutes or would just prefer the convenience of being at home.
