Meet Our Team
Shannon Maixner
Shannon and her husband Bob are the founders and owners of Fitness Focus. She treats patients and clients in physical therapy, Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT®), personal training, and Pilates.
Shannon has extensive MAT® expertise and was the first provider in Minnesota. She has achieved the highest level attainable while becoming MATRx certified. Due to this MAT® experience and knowledge, she is one of only five international instructors that teaches aspiring student from around the world. Other advanced training includes a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), TPI golf training, and individualized bike fitting. Shannon received her physical therapy degree from the University of North Dakota.
When Shannon is not at Fitness Focus, she can be found somewhere outside. She enjoys biking, running, hiking, and camping in her free time.

Dr. Matt Zellmer
Matt currently serves as the Clinic Director at Fitness Focus. He treats patients and clients in physical therapy, personal training, and sports performance training.
Matt graduated from Luther College where he received his Bachelor degree in Athletic Training while also becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA). He received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and went on to become a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist. Areas of advanced training include athletic development, manual therapy, strength training, and chronic pain.
When Matt is not at Fitness Focus, he enjoys lifting weights, running, playing basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.

Christa Carlson
Christa treats clients in Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT®) and personal training.
Christa graduated from South Dakota State where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Administration in Higher Education. She went on for more advanced training becoming a Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT®) Specialist.
When Christa is not at Fitness Focus, enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and traveling. She also is the Centennial High School Varsity Girls Soccer Coach and Centennial Soccer Club Coaching Director.

Dr. Hannah Huerta
Hannah treats patients and clients in physical therapy, personal training, Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT®), dry needling, and sports performance training.
Hannah received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Jamestown and is also certified in Dry Needling. She has a strong background in treating individuals suffering from pain or injuries who are looking to become more physically active. She also has a great experience in athletics as she competed at both the high school and collegiate levels along with currently coaching figure skating.
When not at Fitness Focus, Hannah enjoys running, yoga, hiking, coaching figure skating, and playing basketball.

Dr. Katie McMahon
Katie treats patients and clients in physical therapy, personal training, dry needling, and sports performance training.
Katie graduated from Hamline University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Psychology. Then went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Jamestown and certification in Dry Needling. She has a strong background in low back injuries, gymnastics, and track and field while focusing on body mechanics for both everyday activities and return to sports.
When not at Fitness Focus, Katie enjoys being outside, going on hikes, taking bike rides, playing with her pets, doing yoga, lifting weights, and spending time with family and friends.

Renee McCoy
Renee trains clients in Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates in private, semi-private, and group classes.
Renee received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from Mankato State University. Her advanced training includes Stott Pilates, Yamuna body rolling, NASM personal training, and is an ACSM health fitness instructor. She also completed mentorship training with well-known Pilates instructor Wendy Leblanc-Arbuckle. She uses a wide-range of cuing strategies to optimize her client’s movements and experience.
When Renee is not at Fitness Focus, she enjoys lake swimming, agate hunting, and journaling.

Mari Kline-Kluck
Mari trains clients in Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, personal training, and barre in private, semi-private, and group classes.
Mari has a strong background in dance. She received her Masters of Fine Arts along with becoming a Master Balletone Ambassador. Other advanced training includes PhysicalMind Institute Pilates certification, personal training certifications (ACSM and NETA), and group exercise certifications (ACE and NETA). She utilizes this wide-range of skills and experiences to individualize her client’s experience based on their goals and current ability levels.
When Mari is not at Fitness Focus, she enjoys dancing, downhill skiing, hiking, camping, and biking. She also enjoys spending time her kids building forts, take karate classes, and knitting.
